If this question crossed your mind for a moment, it’s because you certainly had the pleasure of exploring the morbid corners of the Bakers’ house in VR mode in Resident Evil 7. When you think about it, what better way to enjoy total immersion than with a virtual reality headset / VR Goggles.Â
Since Resident Evil 7 offered fans a whole new way to experience the horror with VR, some players wondered if Capcom would repeat the experience to implement virtual reality in Resident Evil 2 Remake.Â
Unfortunately, this will not be the case with this horror game. According to Tsuyoshi Kanda, producer of RE2 Remake, the camera perspective does not allow the use of the VR and this is not a priority for Capcom. On the other hand, in these statements, there is nothing to suggest that game development teams will not consider them in the future based on player demand.Â
We may very well see Capcom proposing a post-launch update or a DLC to enable VR support. But let’s face it, it would be a great thing to walk through the Raccoon City police station in VR mode through the eyes of Leon Scott Kennedy or Claire Redfield.
