Niantic Labs teams recently added a special item to Pokemon Go, the Sinnoh Stone, which is an evolutionary stone that allows certain game creatures from Generation 1, 2 & 3 to take the form of a fourth generation Pokemon. These intergenerational evolutions are only possible through a Sinnoh stone and 100 specific Pokemon candies to be made to evolve.
How to get Sinnoh evolution stones in Pokemon Go :
Previously, it was possible to obtain a Sinnoh stone as a reward for the 7 stamps. Indeed, the mystery item in Professor Willow’s study phases (7 day field research)Â was certainly a Sinnoh Stone (otherwise called 1106_name when the item first appeared in the game).Â
Only, since the end of the Let’s Go event (linked to the release of Pokemon Let’s Go on Nintendo Switch), it is no longer possible to obtain Sinnoh stone with this method ! At least, there is no guarantee that you will get an evolution stone with the 7 stamps since its obtention has become totally random like many of the game’s reward items.
For the moment, the Niantic Labs teams do not offer any alternative. Note however that Sinnoh stones can later be offered as rewards with pokestops or gifts. In any case, Sinnoh stone is only available for trainers of level 10 and above.

Which Pokemon to make evolve in priority with the Sinnoh stone :
As you will have understood, Sinnoh stone is rather rare in the game… Especially since it has become a totally random reward from Pokemon GO. We will tell you below which Pokemon should be evolved first with this famous stone. However, keep in mind that it is best to evolve a Pokemon according to your preferences if you do not have a battle performance perspective.
The Pokemon to be obtained as a priority in our opinion is Weavile, which is the evolution of Sneasel. You can get it by using a Sinnoh stone on a Sneasel, you will also need 100 Sneasel candies for evolution to become possible. From a « performance in combat » point of view, Weavile is very effective thanks to higher than average statistics combined with its two types Dark / Ice.
