Guide The Sims 4 Island Living how to create or get mermaids

In The Sims 4 game, one of the main new features of the content pack Island Living is the possibility to create and obtain mermaids / sirens. If you are lost and don’t know how to get your first mermaid in the game, we explain everything you need to know about it. 

In this guide, we will tell you how to create a new Sim and make it look like a mermaid directly, we will also see how you can change your existing Sim into a mermaid / siren. Here’s what you need to know about the sirens of the Sims 4 Paradise Islands.

How to create a mermaid / siren in the « create a Sim » menu ?

It’s quite simple, when you’re in the Sim creation interface, you just have to click on the small icon at the bottom left of your screen « add a Sim ». Then choose the option « special occult lifestyle » and choose to create a siren. Your new Sim will now have 2 icons. The top one allows you to change your mermaid shape and the bottom icon is your normal shape.

→ In the siren editor, you can add special things like shells and scales or customize its tail for a more marine effect.

How to transform an existing Sim into a mermaid / siren ?

If you want to transform your existing Sim into a siren, you will need to find a Mermadic Kelp. There are several ways to get this type of food, for example, you can dive for treasure (requires a special treasure tool). Otherwise, you can also explore the island’s secret cave located on the island with the shipwreck.

Note that you always get 10 Mermadic Kelp when you find them in The Sims 4 Island Living. Enough stock to transform all your Sims in the same family into pretty Mermaids. When you have your Mermadic Kelp, make your Sim eat it and within the next 24 hours it will turn into a siren when you go in the water. 

If you want your mermaid to return to her original shape (no longer being a Siren), you must find another type of Kelp, feed her 2 Mermadic Kelps and the Sim will regain her human appearance within four hours.
